The Consulate General of Mexico in Toronto and Latin American Studies (University of Toronto) present the Mexican Film Series with the first screening “La cobarde”, as part of Julio Bracho´s Vision.
Plot summary: A man and his two nephews rescue a little girl, the only survivor of a shipwreck. Arturo brings the child home and adopts her, naming her Mara after the sea. The girl is raised along the two boys, Julio and Roberto, in a happy childhood. Once she becomes a woman, Mara is the shining star around which the three men’s lives will circle in a game of love, deception, and madness.
