The Day of the Dead Festival will be held Saturday November 5 and Sunday November 6 at the Harbourfront Centre, with the collaboration of the Consulate General of Mexico to Toronto. Each year, this arts centre hosts one of the most important traditions in Mexican popular culture: the celebration of the Day of the Dead.
Due to the large crowds drawn to this event each year, Harbourfront has decided to extend the festival over two days, with the same art, theatre, film and culinary programming available each day.
This year, the ofrenda prepared by the Consulate of Mexico will be dedicated to Mario Moreno “Cantinflas,” one hundred years after his birth.
